Extension / Renovation / Modernisation – Five Bedroom Detached House

This 1950s house needed modernisation and more space.

It was originally a four-bedroom detached house; we added a two-storey extension.

The master bedroom was relocated into the extension and fitted with a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite.

A second ensuite was added to the existing second bedroom and on the first floor a new family room was created.

The extension also allowed us to increase the size of the kitchen which was refitted.

A dining room was added and the large lounge became triple aspect.

The garden was fully landscaped to include patio and wooden decking.

A utility area was also added into the back of the garage alongside the newly fitted boiler, the garage was also fitted with an electric garage door.

Warehouse – External Development / Internal Renovation

The access ramp was not accessible to the forklift trucks due to the angle of the ramp.

Oaks Property Services added a longer ramp with a shallower gradient to ensure full accessibility

The project involved internal racks for the entire warehouse for pallet storage, creation of a driver office on the ground floor and three separate offices on the first floor. All offices were then decorated and carpeted. We also added two additional kitchenettes.

The boiler was removed and replaced with a new electric water heater.

Historical Building Renovation – The Clock Tower, Walton-on-Thames

The Clock Tower is a grade II listed building in Walton with a long history.

When  Simon Holdings purchased it in 1997 Oaks Property completed a full refurbished to provide a modern, air conditioned office space. Whilst retaining the building’s original features.

This project was undertaken by Oaks with close liaison with British Heritage to provide an impressive listed building exterior whilst offering all the benefits of a modern office environment.

The brief was to create modernised office space to the highest standard in just three months.

Walls were removed in the rear office (which was once a stable) to create an open-plan office.

The entire building was re-wired, re-plumbed and air conditioning was installed, as was cat 2 lighting and cat 5 wiring.

New toilets and a kitchen were added and entrance points were created or reopened.
We also needed to add steel structural supports to the rear office as we were removing all the inner walls that had sectioned the building into smaller offices.

We opened up the original making it a feature of the reception area.

This modern space was created without compromising the atmosphere of the historical building.

The building and 17th century Clock are maintained by Oaks Property on an ongoing basis.

Recently, Oaks Property were called in to redesign the Car Park to make more parking available for the growing staff numbers. This work involved removing flower beds, laying block paving and re-tarmacking.
